Welcome to Daily Joy: Finding Peace in the Waiting

Hi, friend.

Can I just take a moment to say thank you? Thank you for being here, for giving this little corner of the internet your time, and for sharing your heart with mine. Whether you stumbled here intentionally or by accident, I believe it wasn’t by chance.

Let me tell you why I started Daily Joy.

Life has a way of overwhelming us, doesn’t it? The to-do lists, the dreams that feel just out of reach, the longing for something more—something good, something certain. For me, it’s been a season of balancing creative projects, being intentional in my marriage, and carrying the weight of waiting.

You know the kind of waiting I’m talking about, don’t you?

For me, it’s waiting and wanting to be a mom. It’s waiting for doors to open, for prayers to be answered, and for dreams to become reality. But waiting doesn’t just sit quietly in the background—it whispers lies. It tells you you’re behind. It questions your worth. It loops endlessly in your mind, feeding you “what ifs” and “whens” until you feel like you’re running on empty.

I’ve been there, stuck on that hamster wheel of anxiety, trying to figure out how to make everything happen faster, better, or differently. But here’s the truth I’m learning, and it’s a truth I want to share with you:

Peace isn’t found in figuring everything out. Peace is found in being with Jesus.

That’s what Daily Joy is all about—choosing the better part like Mary did in Luke 10:41-42. While Martha was busy doing all the right things, Mary chose to sit at Jesus’ feet. It wasn’t that Martha’s tasks weren’t important—they were. But Mary knew that the only thing truly needed was Jesus.

I’m learning to choose the better part, too. Some days, it looks like setting aside my endless “to-do” list to spend time in prayer. Other days, it means giving myself grace when life feels messy and I don’t have all the answers. Every day, it means reminding myself that God is with me in the waiting.

So, welcome.

Here, in this space, we’ll talk about real-life struggles, celebrate small victories that feel like tiny glimpses of glory, and dig into God’s Word to find peace, purpose, and joy, even in the middle of life’s hardest seasons.

I don’t have it all figured out. Honestly, I’m writing these words as much for me as I am for you. But that’s the beauty of faith, isn’t it? It’s not about having all the answers—it’s about trusting the One who does.

What to Expect from Daily Joy:

  • Weekly devotionals to encourage your heart and refocus your mind.
  • Honest conversations about the waiting, the worrying, and the wondering.
  • Tools to help you prioritize God’s presence and experience His peace.

My hope is that this space becomes a safe place for your soul—a place where you’re reminded that you’re not alone, that you’re seen, and that even in the waiting, there is joy to be found.

So, let’s take this journey together. Let’s trust that with God, even the hard seasons can be filled with hope and purpose. Let’s find the joy in every day—even if it’s just one small moment at a time.

Until next time,
Joy

Clear the Room: Make Space for Purpose - Day Two

Day 2: Surrender the Weight Scripture : Hebrews 12:1 (NIV) — "Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." Devotional : I once heard someone describe life as running a race with bags strapped to your back. Each bag represented something different—fear, shame, insecurity, and bitterness. Some were small and easy to carry, but others felt like stones. That image stuck with me because I know what it’s like to feel weighed down. If I’m honest, there have been seasons when I held onto things I knew God was asking me to release. A grudge I couldn’t let go of. The pressure to meet everyone’s expectations. The guilt of mistakes I couldn’t forgive myself for. I told myself I needed to carry these things, but deep down, I knew they were slowing me down. God doesn’t call us to run weighed down. He calls us to run free. The moment I decided to surrender those weights to Him, something shifted....

Prioritizing His Presence Devotion - Day 2: Choosing What Matters

Scripture: "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." — Matthew 6:33 Devotional: Have you ever had one of those days where you’re running on fumes? The kind where you’ve said “yes” to everything and everyone, leaving nothing left for yourself? I’ve been there more times than I’d like to admit—serving, working, striving—thinking that if I just do enough, I’ll feel fulfilled. But let me tell you something I’ve learned: Fulfillment doesn’t come from doing. It comes from being. When I think about Matthew 6:33, I’m reminded of the simplicity of Jesus’ words: Seek first the kingdom of God. That’s it. He didn’t say, “Seek success first” or “Seek approval first.” He didn’t even say, “Seek doing more first.” Just, “Seek first the kingdom.” Mary understood this. While Martha was busy doing good things—things that seemed important—Mary chose the better thing. She chose to sit with Jesus, prioritize Him, and trust that everyt...

The Blessing in the Wait Devotional - Day One

Day 1: Waiting with Purpose Scripture: Genesis 1:1-3 (NIV) "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light." Devotional: There’s something profound about those opening words of the Bible. Before anything existed—before the beauty, the life, the purpose—there was a waiting. God’s Spirit hovered over the waters, moving but not rushing. He wasn’t in a hurry to create. Instead, He prepared. He shaped the chaos into order, brought light into darkness, and set the stage for His masterpiece. Friend, if creation itself began with a pause, why do we resist the pauses in our lives? Waiting feels like nothingness, doesn’t it? Like the formless void of Genesis. But just like in the beginning, God is hovering over your life. He’s moving in the unseen, preparing spaces, aligning opportunities...
